Outrigger Canoeing

GO OUTRIGGER CANOEING

WHERE:   Royal Outrigger Canoe Club, Trowlock Way, Teddington TW11 9QY

WHEN: Sunday September 16th at 10.15am

An outrigger canoe is Polynesian in origin. It is a stable six-person boat that is paddled on both sides.

We will be running a session for beginners with visual impairments on 16th September at 10.15am. If you want to bring a friend or someone to accompany you they are very welcome.   The session will last about 60mins.

What you need to know

  • You must be able to swim a minimum of 25 yards and must be over 18 years of age.
  • No special clothing is required.  We recommend you wear running or sportswear (not jeans) with a pair of light trainers or water shoes. A waterproof top such as a cagoule is ideal in case of wet weather. You will also need a towel and a complete change of clothing for afterwards.
  • The club will provide canoes, paddles and buoyancy aids.

It is essential that you book a place on the course so that we can ensure we accommodate your needs. Bookings will be on a “first come first served” basis.
