Urgent message from Benjamin Tunstall NHS South West London CCG
Merton residents are not attending booked vaccination appointments at the Wilson Centre due to fears about the spread of the South African variant.
National media stories have emphasised the need for people living in the Pollards Hill area to stay at home and follow lockdown restrictions.
Covid-19 vaccine appointments and the new variant
If you have a Covid-19 vaccine booking at any GP surgery or vaccination site, please attend your appointment as planned.
This advice also applies to people who live in the Pollards Hill area and CR4 postcode, who are being asked to follow the lockdown rules carefully and take a Covid-19 test as soon as possible. This follows a case of the South African variant of Covid-19 in the area. For more information about getting a test, visit the Merton Council website https://www.merton.gov.uk/coronavirus/test/local-testing.
Please also continue to attend any medical appointments – be assured that all GP surgeries, hospitals and NHS vaccination sites have taken every precaution to keep you safe.
If you have tested positive for Covid-19 or have symptoms, and have a vaccination booked, please contact your GP to rearrange your appointment
