We are recruiting for a Habilitation Officer P/T
Band 6 (Actual Salary Range £32,400 to £37,500) depending on qualifications and experience
7 hours per week pro rata
We are a successful, highly regarded, sight-loss charity offering much needed support to visually impaired children and adults living in Merton.
We help more than 110 vision impaired young people with varying degrees of sight loss every year. MertonVision is working to be London’s leading sight-loss charity.
MertonVision is looking for an enthusiastic, skilled and committed Habilitation Specialist to join our successful team within the Sensory Service, supporting children and young people with visual impairment across the borough.
This is an opportunity to work with a committed team which supports children with visual impairment through Primary and Secondary Resources and outreach, to families and settings.
Your role will be to support the habilitation needs of these children and young people. You will develop individually tailored programmes and training based on the identified needs of children and young people 0 – 25 years. You will ensure positive transitions from home into all settings including into adult services as appropriate. You will work in home, school and public settings with children, their families and a range of professionals.

The successful candidate will have a nationally recognised qualification in Habilitation training for children and young people with a visual impairment
